MEET OUR FOUNDER

Dominique Jones, M.B.A. (she/her)

Birth Advocate | Educator | Doula | Lactation Specialist

Hi mamas! I’m Dominique, owner and CEO of M.A.M.A.  Mom’s Advocate & Maternal Advisor™. I’m a Black mother of three young girls, and I know firsthand how scary pregnancy, birth, and motherhood can feel—especially when you don’t have the support you need.

Too often, women begin their journey to motherhood feeling unsafe, unheard, and unsupported. These feelings don’t disappear after birth—in fact, they’re often heightened. I created M.A.M.A. to change that. My goal was to build a safe, empowering space where mothers are truly listened to, supported without judgment, and provided with evidence-based information to help them advocate for the care they want and deserve.

At M.A.M.A., we offer a full spectrum of birth services, from pregnancy through postpartum. As an agency, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all support. I lead a dedicated team of birthworkers, and together we match each client with the professional who best aligns with their needs, preferences, and values. Our team brings warmth, experience, and cultural competency to every family we serve.

My passion for mothers and babies runs deep. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Pre-Medicine, but spent 13 years working in education. While meaningful, that work wasn’t fulfilling. After the birth of my second daughter, I began a journey of self-reflection—and realized that my calling to support mothers never left me.

In 2020, with all its heartbreak and uncertainty, I stopped waiting and launched M.A.M.A. I believe God created me for this work—to stand in the gap, to advocate for birth justice, and to help create better, more equitable maternal health outcomes for Black women and all birthing families.

Today, as a certified childbirth educator, certified birth and postpartum doula, and certified breastfeeding specialist, I’m fully committed to making sure no mother feels alone. My vision is rooted in compassion, advocacy, and access—ensuring every family receives the care, dignity, and support they deserve.

To expand this mission, I also founded the M.A.M.A. Community Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. A portion of all proceeds from our services directly supports the foundation’s work—providing free and low-cost doula support, childbirth education, and community events that foster informed, confident, and supported parenthood.

If you’re ready to feel empowered on your journey, we’re here for you—every step of the way.
